- Awaiting certification. These candidates won their Democratic primary, but their state hasn't yet certified the November 3 ballot. We update their status when it does.
- Research status. "Not yet researched" means we haven't finished reviewing this candidate on this issue. "No documented position" means we searched and found nothing either way. Neither one means opposition, and we never fill a gap with a guess. Positions appear only after review. Candidates researched: 436 of 436 (100%).
- District lines. Lines come from the Census Bureau's 2025 boundaries for the 119th Congress, replaced where a state has adopted a new map: California AB604, Florida EOGPCRP2026, North Carolina SL2025-95 and Utah Map 1A. In AL, LA, MO, OH, TN and TX, 2026 lines are still under review. Those states are hatched and show no district lines, but their candidates are listed in the district table. Download Census source.
- Missing candidates. If a district shows no candidate, we haven't loaded that state's roster yet. It doesn't mean no Democrat is running.
- The dial. The face on the dial is a caricature; Bill Maher has not endorsed this site. CALM and PANIC are satirical labels, not measured public sentiment.
- DSA Scare-O-Meter count. Counts Democrats on the November 3 ballot whose membership in, or endorsement by, a group the meter tracks is documented in an official group, House or campaign source. Each group is counted and listed separately; a candidate named by more than one group counts once in the total. Only national endorsements count; chapter endorsements are not included. Endorsement lists are published in full, but membership is counted only where a source names it: we have not yet searched every candidate for membership, so the total is a minimum: research does not yet cover every candidate. Current affiliations aren't projected back in time.
- No scores. We don't endorse or rank candidates or place anyone on a left-right scale. We compare one issue at a time and never combine issues into a single score or infer one position for a whole issue group.
- Timing. Figures as of Oct 15, 2026, 3:31 p.m. UTC. Method and query version: 2026.10.07.tracy-schema-1.
